They're back... or did they ever leave? In the 1990s, you couldn't pick up a martial arts magazine without running into the mysterious, black-clad warriors known as ninja. The ninja boom was driven by a continuous stream of mostly chessy movies, which in turn was inspired by the reallife activities of a young Anglo adventurer named Stephen K. Hayes. known for their superhuman abilities, the ninja were believed to possess the power to disappear at will and strike without warning.
