The ninja boom was driven by a continuous stream of mostly chessy movies, which in turn was inspired by the reallife activities of a young Anglo adventurer named Stephen K. Hayes. known for their superhuman abilities, the ninja were believed to possess the power to disappear at will and strike without warning. They were spies of extraordinary martial prowess, the bane of all samurai in feudal Japan. They would use whatever means necessary to accomplish their goals, often violating bushido, the samurai code of honor....
