Jane was a single mother in her late 30s with a 12-year old daughter. They both trained at my academy for 1½ years. During Spring Break, the two of them went on vacation. It was a vacation they would never forget. One night at approximately 8pm, three men attacked them with knives. Mother and daughter stood side-by-side and disarmed and disabled all three men. The daughter handled one adult male while Jane defended against the other two. They lived to tell this story and continue to thank me to this day about teaching them these invaluable skills.
